Stylized 3D character with rolling luggage walking past a sunlit pool and palm trees in a real-time WebGL scene.
Scroll WanderJaunt and you get something weirder than the usual real estate site. Tiny custom characters wander through curated rental scenes in real time, hauling luggage past pools and palm trees as the camera glides between vignettes.
The technically interesting bit is that none of this is canned video. ThoughtLab built a live 3D and animation system for the flagship site. The prototype was engineered to ship at production scale, which meant solving the unglamorous half of the job: keeping the asset budget honest, blending 3D moments into a standard page without nuking accessibility or SEO, and surviving on a mid-range phone. There's a small bittersweet footnote too. WanderJaunt the company folded before launch. ThoughtLab pushed it live anyway. The case study at thoughtlab.com/projects/wanderjaunt gets into the architecture and the strategy that drove it. Worth a slow scroll to watch the choreography land.
