A minimalist black and white portfolio site showing project cards that shift and respond to cursor movement, with smooth typographic transitions between sections.
Studio Lumio's portfolio site is the kind of thing you load up and immediately forget you were going somewhere else. The page opens with an animated preloader that sets the tone: restrained, typographic, confident. Then you're dropped into a monochrome space where elements respond to your cursor with the casual precision of someone who knows exactly how much is enough. Mouse over the work section and cards shuffle into view with just the right amount of spring. There's audio, too, subtle and optional.
What's interesting technically is the restraint shown in the stack. They're running Next.js with GSAP for animations, Lenis for scroll, and three.js via react-three-fiber for shader work. But the shaders aren't screaming at you. They're deployed like punctuation, not pyrotechnics. Zustand handles state, which suggests they're thinking about performance as much as polish.
Worth a look, worth a source inspection, worth poking around for inspiration.
