Lusion's portfolio showing interactive 3D generative visuals with flowing light tubes and particle effects rendered in real-time using WebGL and Three.js
Lusion is a Bristol-based creative studio that consistently pushes the boundaries of what's possible in the browser. Their main site is less of a portfolio and more of a flexing ground: scroll through and you're hit with generative animations, real-time cloth simulations, and those gorgeous curly light-scattering tubes that have become almost iconic in the WebGL community. Everything runs on Three.js with vertex animations baked in Houdini FX, and they've clearly put serious effort into optimization since even the complex stuff runs surprisingly smooth on lower-end hardware.
What makes Lusion's work technically interesting is the depth of their pipeline. They're doing procedural animation generation in Houdini, multi-pass rendering for effects like crystal refraction with FBM noise for imperfections, and building custom solutions to make traditionally expensive effects like cloth simulation web-friendly.
Spend some time clicking through the main site and the Labs page; there's a lot hiding in there if you poke around.
