Medusae is a soft-body jellyfish simulation by Ash Weeks that shows just how alive WebGL can feel. Built with Three.js and a custom particle-and-constraint physics engine, it drives nearly fifteen thousand particles in real time and still runs smoothly in the browser.
The inspiration came from Alexander Semenov’s eerie jellyfish photography. The jellyfish breathes, drifts, and reacts to your cursor, all while syncing subtle pulses to the soundtrack. It’s an elegant blend of art and engineering, and the open-source code is great material for anyone curious about soft-body physics on the web.
